The 3D Additivist Cookbook was devised and edited by Morehshin Allahyari and Daniel Rourke as part of the Vilém Flusser Residency 2016 Program organized jointly by transmediale and the Vilém Flusser Archive in Berlin. The Cookbook is a compendium of imaginative and provocative works from over 100 international artists, theorists, makers, and activists, containing 3D .obj and .stl files, critical texts, templates, recipes, and (im)practical designs and methodologies for living in such contradictory times as the present. The European launch at transmediale features a panel discussion with an introduction by Morehshin Allahyari and Daniel Rourke, words on hybrid publishing by INC's editor Miriam Rasch, and project presentations by a number of cookbook participants, focused on new ways of doing, making, thinking, and interrupting. The 3D Additivist Cookbook, designed in collaboration with Manuel Bürger, Simon Schindele and Alexander Papoli-Barawati, is available online and as a print-on-demand publication from The Institute of Network Cultures (Amsterdam).
